Who we are
Sagebrush Security was created because we saw an increasing disconnect between business leadership and cybersecurity risk, despite the desire from organizations to truly understand cybersecurity’s impact on their business. With the digital aspects of companies becoming ever more important as things like AI are more integrated in daily operations, this disconnect will become more and more of a liability. Business leaders know this, but often times feel powerless to fix it as evidenced by questions we often hear such as:
“Are our teams doing the right things in regards to cybersecurity?”
“How do we know if we are doing enough to protect our company?”
“How am I supposed to keep up with things changing so fast?”
We also felt uniquely poised to help bridge this disconnect. With the ability to communicate extremely technical ideas in simple business language and business perspective into technical action along with a passion for helping others, we’ve set out to teach companies how to securely and safely navigate the future digital era.
Our Team
Ansel Manning
Principal Advisor, Risk and Cybersecurity
Ansel began his career in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Special Agent with the Office of Special Investigations. He focused on cyber and counterintelligence investigations and advised senior leaders across the Department of Defense.
He then worked at Chesapeake Energy and Gulfport Energy in progressively senior roles focused on cybersecurity, ethics investigations, and building and running business continuity and enterprise risk management programs. He partnered with the C-suite to protect the companies, advise the Board of Directors on risks, and get intractable problems unstuck.
Ansel also was a Software Engineering Manager at Mapbox, leading global teams that delivered up-to-date place data and geospatial search services using both AI-driven and traditional methods at internet scale.
Besides his work experience, Ansel has earned many certifications and kept learning in areas like cybersecurity, economics, corporate finance, AI/ML, and organizational and behavioral psychology.
Ansel’s mix of business experience and deep technical skill makes him an ideal partner to link your organization’s business needs with its cybersecurity.
